Dry vs Dehydrated Skin

When caring for you skin, it is important to know the skin conditions and skin type you have; in doing so, you can accurately treat your skin issues according to your skin type.

To differentiate between skin type and skin conditions, please see the definitions below:

skin type- classification describing a person's genetic skin type (ie-dry, oily, combination, etc.)
skin condition- an occurrence of the skin caused by internal and/or external factors (ie-actinic agin , adult acne, skin issues from hormonal fluctuations, etc. ).

When dealing with DRY skin, it is necessary to hydrate the skin in each step. Cleanse with a moisturizing cleanser, use a gel or cream mask, exfoliate with an infusing exfoliant and of course moisturize with a heavier product (SPF for day).

As far as DEHYDRATED skin, it is imperative to get moisture from water sources. Hyaluronic acid is an element found in some skincare products that attract and retain the vital moisture in your skin.  This compound is usually found in serums, anit-aging products and gel mask.

SN: Products that are hydrating and contain oil don't correct dehydration...oil and water, people, oil and water ;)!

Happy Skin,
Trecie
