Get OFF my Face! Best Products to Remove Makeup!

Regardless of the look, every makeup wearer's struggle is the same at the end of a busy day....getting the baked on, caked on (hopefully not), waterproof, super set, glamour, high fashion, bold, bright, natural, nude or neutral makeup off of our face. And even if you are successful in doing you, you have now managed to have, what appears to be, mascasra and liner residue around your eyes; therefore, forcing you to go to sleep with black eyes. *le sigh*......*le struggle*.

What can we use to get this junk off...every night...that is gentle for our skin and moisturizing? OIL! Well there's so many questions....I have oily skin....I don't want to put oil on my face....will it leave a residue....the list goes on and on.

BUT, I have an answer......

The makeup remover step is step 1 in a 2-3 part cleansing at night. Your cleaner will remove the residue and oily feeling of the product when you wash.  The makeup remover product will not only remove your makeup and debris, but it will prep the skin for the actual cleansing.  If you use your cleanser right away, and only once, you are ONLY removing the layer of makeup, you aren't cleansing your skin.  Don't believe me? Wash it a second time and stare in disgust at your face rag and the traces of makeup left behind.

I use 3 different makeup removers...all oil based....all love to my face! Many people use baby oil or EVOO, and if that works for you, then fine...but the 3 products below are my go-to makeup removers, and a little goes a long way!

Product Name: Albolene
Where I Get Mine: Walgreens
Price: $7.99

Many use Albolene for water weight and working out; while it can be used as that, I use mine as a makeup remover.  Via the picture below, you can see how it dissovles makeup and it is wiped clean.  I apply this all over my face then using my index and thumb, I gently rub my lashes to remove any mascara.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!

Product Name: Dermalogica PreCleanse
Where I Get Mine: Ulta
Cost: $37.00

When getting my Aesthetician license, I learned with the Dermalogica line and this was one of my favorite products. The smell and how easily it removed the debris and makeup was amazing.  The price point is a little higher on this one, BUT it is a great investment.  PLUS, it only takes a little to do your full face, so it will last a while. If you are big on face products smelling amazing, this is a definite must have!

Product Name: Murad Renewing Cleansing Oil for face, eyes and lips (a part of the Resurgence Line)
Where I Get Mine: Massage Envy Spas
Cost: $32.00

I work with the Murad line and use several of their products ( eye creams, serums, cleansers, moisturizers.....the list goes on and on) and was VERY excited when they revamped some of their sublines and introduced the Cleansing Oil to their Resurgence line in late Spring. This is the only product I use from the Resurgence Line since the line is targeted towards more drier skinned individuals and those experiencing hormonal aging. I use two drop and rub it over my face, dissolving any makeup. Then I use water to emulsify it slightly before removing it and following up with my cleanser.

It is important to remember that these products are makeup removers and it is best to followup with a cleanser suited and tailored to your skin type.

What products do you use to remove your makeup? If you don't use any, will you begin now?

xoxo,
Trecie
