Trend Report: Fall 2013 Makeup, Hair and Beauty Trends

Fall is upon us! In a few short weeks, we will say goodbye to Mr. Heatmiser and hello to Father Fall! Back to deep plum and berry toned lips paired with crisp eyeshadow applications and matte skin! While some trends return year after year, below are some things from the fall trend reports that you should definitely participate in! Makeup and beauty is a form of art.....partake in it and let your mind run wild!

Cat Eyes: A staple in any season, cat eyes are a MUST this fall! But don't be afraid to play with colors (deep plum, burgundy, navy, hunter green, purple, etc). It can be sleek and controlled, smokey or placed along the eye in some design (see Tracy Reese's Fall 2013 Makeup ). Have fun with it!!!

Orange Eyeshadow: A beautiful color of the fall leaves, orange will also make an appearance on eye lids around the world! Shimmer or matte, you can't go wrong with an orange eye this fall! Keep it muted and classic instead of the boldness that one would often associate with orange. Use a blending or large fluffy brush to apply the eyeshadow.  This allows you to build the coverage instead of going in bold right away!

Red Lips: Is anything else needed? From true red to oxblood, any red is a yes this fall! I prefer a deeper, berry toned red lip! And of course I love my mattes, but a glossed red lip is just as hot for this fall! Pair it with a soft eye, lashes and a shaped brow and you are ready for the red lip trend!  As always, when rocking a red lip make sure to pick out a shade that compliments your skintone!

Glitter: Let your inner child shine!!! Glitter (used conservatively and with an easy hand) is in! It is great to take inspiration from the local strip clubs, fashion shows and drag queens but REMEMBER glitter can come across as cheap looking if not handled with care! I love doing a gold eye then lightly patting gold glitter across the light so that it reflects the light. Be mindful of glitter usage PLEASE!

Braids: Whether a loose braided ponytail, a braided updo or a braided headband, braids are a staple for this season. These styles also protect your hair from the harsh weather and are perfect for bad hair days....DOUBLE WIN!

Carefree Hair: Think bed head with a little bit more control. Oftentimes parted down the center, this hair style is perfect for a jeans, t-shirt and boots look or a night out on the town!

Volume: Channel your old hollywood inner goddess and play up the curls! Slightly tease them for more volume! Pair with a simple, shimmery ivory eye, lashes and red lip and be the star of the show!

Low Ponytails: Sleek ponytails are back this fall!! LOVE! Perfect when paired with a turtle neck, skinny jeans and riding boots! To spice it up, also pair it with a smokey eye (tired of black, try gray, purple or maroon)!
